  • What a wonderful stay our family had. We canoed a large portion of the lake and never saw another person there. Fishing is wonderful both off the dock and in the canoe, we caught plenty of blue gill and bass. We went to Alexander springs two days of our stay and it was wonderful, perfect spot for children to swim. We went on a short hike and roasted s’mores on the fire outside. The cabin is very beautiful and clean. Everything we needed was provided other than groceries. We cooked every day and night either on the stove or grill, never ate out once. It was a Very relaxing trip. We will definitely be back!! Be sure that you have a four wheel drive vehicle as you will need it going down the driveway was raining a portion every day of our trip. Also be sure to check Yourself for ticks each day.

  • If you seek nature as a way to recharge- this is the spot! Secluded cabin with gorgeous sunset views from the dock. Canoe and kayak for your enjoyment- nice grill and fully stocked kitchen. Star gazing encouraged as light pollution is at a minimum here. Don’t try getting here in your sedan. Make sure you have a vehicle that can navigate a forest service road and all will be well. The cabin is rustic and absolute perfection. We enjoyed every second. You’re in the woods on a sand ridge so bring bug repellent supplies and enjoy the peace and quiet.

  • The Grasshopper Lodge, a sweet little getaway located in a secluded area in Ocala National Forest. We stumbled upon this location on AirBnb and decided to book for a quick birthday getaway. We were not expecting to love it THIS much. In order to get to the lodge, you must have a durable vehicle, preferably one with 4WD as the minute you are on the road, you are "off roading" for a .5 miles. You are greeted by a sweet lady, Doris, who is the only other lodge on the street (that you can't see because it's tucked in the woods). The lodge (1 bed, 1 bath) is equipped with everything you need: a grill, kitchen appliances & utensils, wood fireplace, fire pit, picnic table, kayaks, a canoe, etc. We picked up some groceries and brought them to the lodge so we could cook, however, there are some restaurants located down the street (a few miles down) where you can dine. The best part about this lodge is the dock accessibility and the kayaks and canoe. It was awesome that we could just pickup the canoe and head out in the water. We loved being able to spend the day on the water and truly no one else was out there. There are quite a few springs nearby: Juniper, Alexander, Silver Glen, etc. all very easily accessible by car. There were also some great off roading trails nearby which were so fun! If you have an ATV, bring it! If you have an off roading truck/SUV, bring it! We even saw a cute little bear cub off roading! This was truly an epic getaway and we cannot wait to make this our annual tradition.

  • Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. Great for bird watching. Caught some fish and didn’t see another soul for three days. Was a great retreat.
